I have been doodling, drawing, and coloring since I could hold a crayon. Through elementary school I took painting classes, and by high school I had fallen completely for watercolor — something about the way pigment moves on wet paper, slightly out of your control, has never stopped fascinating me.

Then during my degree in architecture, I fell in love with different representation techniques, the way a single drawing could hold light, mood, and feeling all at once. I chased that further into a Masters in Sustainable Design at the University of Sydney where I learned to design with intention. But somewhere along the way, I realized that my fascinations wasn't that big for buildings as it is for art.

These days, my inspiration comes from everywhere: the latest design trends, the artists I have admired for years, and just as much, my six-year-old's school art. There is a freedom in how children draw, completely unbothered by whether something is "correct," that I am constantly trying to chase in my own work. Every scribble taped to my studio wall sits right alongside my mood boards and reference books, equally valid, equally inspiring.
 
I have spent these past years finding space to create while raising my son largely on my own. These days, I'm grateful to be doing it with someone wonderful by my side too. There is something quietly meaningful about creating art for couples starting their own journey together, while continuing to build my own. It has taught me patience, resourcefulness, and an even deeper appreciation for love in all its different forms, which I think comes through in the care I put into every illustration.
